This Privacy Policy explains how ROMA Innovations, LLC ("RPO," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, stores, and discloses information when you use the Run Pass Optics mobile application for iOS (the "App"), the website at runpassoptics.com (the "Site"), and related services (collectively, the "Services"). Run Pass Optics is a sports intelligence and entertainment platform. It is not a sportsbook, not a fantasy-sports operator, and does not accept wagers or entry fees.
By using the Services, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Services.
Scope
This Privacy Policy applies to information we collect through the Services. It does not apply to information collected by third parties we do not own or control, including sportsbooks, fantasy platforms, app stores, push-notification providers, or websites you visit through links in our Services. Those third parties maintain their own privacy policies, and we encourage you to review them.
Information We Collect
We collect the following categories of information. We only collect what we need to run and improve the Services.
Information you provide directly
- Account information. When you create an account, we collect your email address, a password (stored in hashed form by our authentication provider — we never see it in plain text), and a display name or handle.
- Profile and preference information. You may choose to tell us your favorite teams and players, your risk preferences (for example, our "Fire/Ice" preference system and risk-style selection), and notification settings.
- Fantasy-league connection information. If you link a Sleeper or ESPN fantasy account, we collect the information needed to fetch your public league data. We do not post, trade, or take any action inside those platforms on your behalf without your explicit request. You can disconnect these integrations at any time in the App.
- Pick slips, grid entries, and competition activity. When you build a pick slip, join or create a grid, or compete with friends, we store those actions so the Services can display them to you, score them against live events, and show results to the friends you share them with. These actions are informational and do not involve real-money wagering on our Services.
- AI-assistant conversations. If you use our AI features, we store the prompts you send and the responses you receive so you can continue your conversation later. You may delete individual threads or all threads at any time in the App.
- Support and communications. If you contact us for support or feedback, we keep the content of your message and any attachments so we can respond and improve the Services.
- Beta-program information. If you apply to our beta program through our Site, we collect the name and email address you submit and any optional information you share about your interests.
Information collected automatically
- Device and usage information. When you use the App or Site, we automatically collect technical information such as device model, iOS version, app version, language, time zone, crash and error logs, and event information about how you interact with the Services.
- Log and diagnostic data. Our servers and third-party infrastructure providers log standard request data (IP address, timestamps, API endpoints accessed) which we use to operate, secure, and debug the Services.
- Push-notification tokens. If you opt in to push notifications, Apple issues us a device-specific token we use to deliver notifications. You can disable notifications at any time in iOS Settings.
Information we do not collect
- We do not collect precise location information (GPS) from your device.
- We do not collect payment-card information. If and when we introduce paid features, payment processing will be handled entirely by Apple through in-app purchases. Apple does not share your full payment information with us.
- We do not scrape or store your device contacts, photos, microphone, or camera input.
- We do not knowingly collect biometric identifiers or health data.
How We Use Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, maintain, and personalize the Services — including showing you picks, rosters, grids, AI suggestions, and leaderboards tailored to your preferences.
- Authenticate your account and keep it secure.
- Communicate with you about your account, product updates, support requests, and — if you opt in — occasional product news.
- Monitor, diagnose, and improve the Services, including measuring feature performance and fixing bugs.
- Detect, investigate, and prevent fraudulent, abusive, or illegal activity, and enforce our Terms of Service.
- Comply with legal obligations, respond to lawful requests, and protect the rights, property, and safety of RPO, our users, and the public.
We do not use your information to train generally available AI models outside of serving your own experience on RPO. We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your personal information with advertisers for cross-context behavioral advertising.
How We Share Information
We share information only in the limited circumstances below.
With service providers
We use trusted third-party service providers to host the Services, authenticate user accounts, process analytics, deliver push notifications, and facilitate the fantasy-league and sportsbook integrations you choose to connect. These providers only receive the information necessary to perform their function, and they are contractually obligated to protect it and to use it only for the purposes we authorize. We do not permit any service provider to use your personal information to train generally available AI models or to build advertising profiles about you.
With friends and grids you join
Information you choose to share inside the social features of the App — for example, your display name, avatar, the grids you join, the picks you post to a shared grid, and win celebrations you share — is visible to the other members of those grids or crews. You control what to share and with whom.
For legal or safety reasons
We may disclose information if we believe, in good faith, that disclosure is necessary to: (a) comply with applicable law, a court order, or a government request; (b) enforce our Terms of Service; (c) investigate fraud, security, or technical issues; or (d) protect the rights, property, or safety of RPO, our users, or others.
In a business transfer
If RPO or its assets are involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you before your information becomes subject to a materially different privacy policy.
App Tracking Transparency and Tracking
We do not engage in "tracking" as that term is defined by Apple's App Tracking Transparency (ATT) framework. We do not share any device identifier with data brokers, and we do not combine your data with data from other companies' apps or websites to build an advertising profile about you. For that reason, we do not present you with an ATT prompt.
How We Protect Information
- Encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS) for all connections between the App, the Site, and our servers.
- Encryption at rest for stored data within our cloud-platform provider's managed infrastructure.
- Least-privilege access for team members, with environment separation between production and development.
- Secure authentication via an industry-standard authentication provider; passwords are one-way hashed and never stored in plain text.
- Ongoing monitoring for anomalies and abuse.
No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security, but we work hard to protect your information and will notify affected users of any incident as required by applicable law.
Data Retention
We retain your information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Services, comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. If you delete your account, we will delete or de-identify your personal information from active systems within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal, tax, or security reasons.
Your Choices and Rights
Inside the App
- Edit your profile and preferences at any time in Settings.
- Disconnect fantasy-league integrations at any time in Settings → Leagues.
- Clear AI conversation history at any time in the AI section of the App.
- Turn push notifications on or off in iOS Settings.
- Delete your account directly in the App: Settings → Account → Delete Account. Account deletion is permanent and irreversible.
Regional rights
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under applicable law, including access, correction, deletion, portability, objection / restriction, withdrawal of consent, and non-discrimination. To exercise any of these rights, email us at privacy@runpassoptics.com. We will verify your identity before acting on a request and will respond within the time required by the law that applies to you.
California residents
If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA) grant you the rights described above. We do not sell or share your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, and we have not done so in the 12 months preceding the effective date of this Privacy Policy.
EEA, UK, and Switzerland residents
If you are located in the EEA, the UK, or Switzerland, our legal bases for processing are: (a) performance of a contract with you; (b) our legitimate interests in operating, securing, and improving the Services, balanced against your rights; (c) your consent, where required; and (d) compliance with a legal obligation. You have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority.
Other U.S. state residents
Residents of Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, and other U.S. states with comprehensive consumer privacy laws have rights similar to those described under Regional rights above. You may exercise them by emailing privacy@runpassoptics.com.
International Data Transfers
The Services are operated from the United States. If you access the Services from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to, processed in, and stored in the United States. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.
Children's Privacy
The Services are intended for users 17 years of age or older and are not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us at privacy@runpassoptics.com and we will promptly delete it.
Third-Party Links and Integrations
The Services contain links to third-party websites, apps, and services. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third parties. When you follow a link or use an integration, the destination collects information according to its own privacy policy.
Analytics and Entertainment Use Only
Content on the Services — including picks, projections, "RPO Edge" indicators, and AI responses — is provided for analytics and entertainment purposes only. Nothing in the Services constitutes gambling, investment, or professional advice. Past performance does not predict future outcomes.
Apple-Specific Disclosures
This Privacy Policy is intended to align with Apple App Store guidelines. The data types we collect, the purposes of collection, and our third-party service providers are described above and are reflected in the App's Privacy Nutrition Label on the App Store. The App provides an in-app account deletion path (Settings → Account → Delete Account), as required by Apple.
Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. If the changes are material, we will provide prominent notice — for example, an in-app notice or an email — before the changes take effect. Your continued use of the Services after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy.
